This Year’s Gift: Honoring Appomattox Courthouse
This year Ed has chosen a National Park Service site – Appomattox Courthouse – to be the recipient of his birthday gift. He was impressed with the commemorative activities presented at this location as well as the site’s efforts with Longwood University to present an annual Civil War symposium early each year. The staff plans to use any funds received for interpretive signage at the Wright House and, any additional monies left over, toward exhibits.

For those wishing to make a donation to honor Ed on his special day, checks should be payable to the National Park Service with annotation on the check to show that funds are designated for Appomattox Courthouse.
The Board of the CWRTDC has voted to continued its tradition of donating $1,000 to Ed's selection.  President Kurt Desoto, and Immediate Past President Stan Schneider and other Past Presidents will be in attendance to present the donation.

Entrees:
This year’s party menu offers three dinner choices:

-- Florentine Chicken (Chicken Breast stuffed with spinach, goat cheese & mushroom sauce)
-- Steak Marchand de Vin (Sirloin Steak with red wine garlic butter sauce)
             -- Chef’s Vegetarian Specialty

(Note: Please let Wendy know if you have any dietary concerns/special needs or questions about the menu.)

Party Price: $72
Price includes dinner with salad and other meal accompaniments including coffee and iced tea, birthday cake, annual birthday button; good company and, as always, Ed. Who could ask for anything more? There will be a cash bar for those emulating certain Civil War Generals and, more importantly, so that all can toast Ed.

And a note about parking: Ballston Mall is currently being renovated. Parking is still available at the ramp associated with the Mall. However, the pedestrian bridge connecting the Mall to the buildings across Wilson (and extending to the Hilton) is closed. Therefore, those using this parking option will need to travel via sidewalk to get to the Hilton. Please contact Wendy if you need information about directions or other parking options.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 29th!

P.S.  Please feel free to share this invitation with others who have toured with Ed over the years and may be interested in this event.  All are invited.  Ed enjoys the reunion of his friends and fellow Civil War buffs on his special day.
